These past few days I was reminded just how incredible our team truly is.

With little notice that one of our SIL homes needed to be evacuated, our staff didn’t hesitate for a moment. They came together instantly, putting our participants first without a second thought for themselves. Working as one team, they safely moved everyone across to the other side of town not even knowing if the bridges might close before they could get everyone out and ensure they had the belongings they needed.

This is what real commitment looks like.

This is what heart looks like.

This is what putting people first truly means.

I could not be prouder of our fearless team.

I’ve also received calls from participants telling me that some other providers have stopped supports until this weather event is over. To be honest, that truly shocked me. Because in times like this, our participants need us the most.

They need calm voices.

They need reassurance.

They need their routines.

They need people around them who remind them that everything will be okay.

Yes, the river is rising, but the weather is currently stable. With sensible decisions and strong teamwork, support can continue safely. And today our team proved exactly that.

Moments like this remind me why the work we do matters so much. Supporting people isn’t just a job it’s a commitment to stand beside them when they need us most. And today, our team showed exactly what that commitment looks like.

So incredibly proud.
